Code of conduct
The Code of Conduct is a framework for the identification and resolution of issues concerning the conduct of members of Bloom-ED. It does not address all possible situations that may arise in Bloom-ED, but outlines guiding principles of acceptable behaviours which members must abide by. The Code of Conduct applies to all volunteers, team members and to all individuals who enter into particular relationships with Bloom-ED for a specified reason, such as a collaborator.
This does not apply to the allies shown on Bloom-ED’s website.
All members will:

-
be committed to embracing diversity and treating everyone with respect, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, language, religion, ability, or political identity,
-
strive to ensure that relationships and sexuality education is nationally consistent, evidence-informed, inclusive, accessible, relevant and affirming to all people and communities,
-
advocate for policies, practices, organisations and systems that promote and advance sexual health, reproductive rights, gender equity and equality, and social justice for all people and communities,
-
provide a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment to fellow team members, including when resolving issues between team members,
-
keep all personal information confidential that has been shared in online group meetings or in the team chat,
-
keep confidential all passwords and account information that they are provided that relate to Bloom-ED,
-
prioritise informed consent to allow all people to have the information they need to make informed decisions
-
conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with our values,
-
hold themselves accountable and be transparent with other members
-
ensure that behaviour and language, even when not conducting Bloom-ED related matters, comply with Australian legislation and Bloom-ED Code of Conduct,
-
proactively disclose in writing any conflicts of interest, or may be perceived to have, as soon as members become aware of it. Management of the conflict of interest may include abstaining from involvement in Bloom-ED work related to the conflict of interest.
